Workify

In this article, we’ll show you how to configure a custom domain purchased through a third party and direct it to your Workify store.

Your store will always be available using the built-in Workify subdomain (i.e. marketname.workify.co). However, most users will want a fully custom domain for their customers to use instead.

* Please choose either Option 1 or Option 2 below and follow the instructions
* Please see the Final step section toward the bottom of the page


(Option 1) For a custom DOMAIN configuration:

Step 1

Login to your domain registrar where you can edit DNS settings and set an A record to point your domain to our servers IP address (138.197.60.71). 

Step 2

You will need to ensure that there is a CNAME record pointing the www subdomain back to the primary domain (this is done by pointing www to @ or to yourdomain.com). Both records must be set for this type of configuration to work.

Step 3

Skip down to "Final step for each option" near the bottom of this page.

(A Record)  yourdomain.com > 138.197.60.71
(CNAME Record) www > yourdomain.com 
----> (or “@” instead of the www for some registrars like Godaddy & namecheap)

*If you have any other A records not pointing to our IP, you will need to delete those.


(Option 2) For a custom SUBDOMAIN:

Step 1

If you are wanting to use a subdomain so that you can keep your existing website intact, something like marketplace.mydomain.com, create a CNAME record that points the subdomain directly to workify.co only. No A record is needed.

(CNAME Record) yourdomain > workify.co
*Point the CNAME to only "workify.co" (not yourmarketplace.workify.co)


Step 2

Skip down to "Final step for each option" below.


Final step for both options:
Login to your Workify account and under the Storefront menu for your market, click the Domain tab. From there, enter your custom domain in the form (without the www) and click the Test DNS button. If everything is correct, you will see a green Domain Ready icon appear. Otherwise, there may be something incorrect, so double check your DNS settings again.


* If you need additional assistance, please contact your domain provider's support and they can assist in setting up your domain correctly.

* It may take up to 24 hours for DNS settings to take effect from your registrar. If your dashboard says Domain Ready, but you are seeing a privacy error when previewing your website, the domain still needs to propagate. Please give it another day.
